TIPS AND TECHNIQUES : LIGHTROOM

  • The Brentham Club 38A Meadvale Road London, England, W5 1NP United Kingdom (map)

Rarely do we show pictures literally straight out of the camera and we have our own individual ways of post production. Indeed, images taken in the same conditions by different photographers will often look completely different from one another, once they have been through the editing process.

The combination of Lightroom and Photoshop, often used with some plug-in extras has revolutionised the ‘digital darkroom’ and in this evening’s session, we will look at a few images and compare techniques for bringing out the best that an image has to offer.

We’ll have a couple of laptops so feel free to bring an image or two for us to work on. Perhaps you have a photograph that you think may have promise but haven’t yet got around to thinking how to treat? Or maybe a judge has already critiqued and you would like to try what they suggested?

We will work on RAW files so bring images on a memory stick please, so we can work in full resolution. JPEG images are also welcome but there are fewer options (but not none!)
